Kirsten & Jordan Gackowski
Sponsorship Quartermaster Team
"Kirsten and Jordan are two of my best and dearest friends, so when I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012 this cause became very close to their hearts. I am so grateful for their support of me through my cancer experience and beyond. They have been B4B supporters from the beginning, but have decided to jump in and take a more active role as crew members. Kirsten and Jordan continue to support not only me, but the local patient and survivor community and I am forever thankful for that."
From Marnie Norris, B4B Survivor Liaison & Sponsorship Quartermaster

Sponsorship Quartermaster Team
Lourra and Joe have recently joined the crew and are already eagerly at work raising money and making a great event even better!
"I joined Booty for Boobies to support the crew in raising money for the ongoing fight against breast cancer. And of course to have a scurvy good time!"
Survivor Liason & Sponsorship Quartermaster
"I have been a Booty for Boobies supporter and attendee since the beginning, but a breast cancer diagnosis of my own in 2012 at age 40 made my involvement much more personal. At the time of the 2012 event, I was undergoing chemotherapy treatment but promised myself I would join the Booty crew when I was back on the road to health. I am now on that road and am honored to join Tacy and her amazing crew as liaison to the breast cancer survivor and patient community."
These are the leaders of this event. Look for them at the event - they will be the ones handing out the booty! Also, if you are interested in becoming a sponsor or donating a prize, please contact one of these fine crew members for more information.
2015 Event Captain & Sponsorship Quartermaster
"Being a part of the Booty team allows me to honor family members that I have lost to cancer and find a cure for friends and family who may need it in the future. Tacy has created an amazing event that benefits everyone involved. If we all contribute just a little, we can make a big difference together while having a scallywag time of it. Arrgh!"
Founder of Booty for Boobies & Sponsorship Quartermaster
"About 10 years ago I was invited to a 'Talk Like a Pirate Day' party and I was hooked. The thought that for just one night I could be as crusty of a barnacle as I wanted was awesome. For years we continued to have the party, but as it grew I couldn't help but think there was a better purpose for it.
A few years ago a friend of mine went through her own battle with breast cancer; a young, fit, outgoing and powerful woman who I could not believe had cancer. She fought and she survived. This encounter with breast cancer made an impression on me. It made it real, a threat that I have a hard time accepting. I was compelled to make a difference, to help fight against this random menace. The pirate party was ripe for this challenge...how could we have so many great people all in one place and not leverage our resources to make an impact? I am very proud of how well this party has transformed into a fundraiser for a cause and think that our fun, tongue in cheek approach made philanthropy more accessible to people who may not have been as motivated by traditional means of contributing. I hope you'll join the crew and join us in making a difference."
Booty for Boobies is a crew of breast avengers raising treasure for the chests. We host an annual Pirate Party focused on the task of raising money that is contributed directly to breast cancer research. Through the generous donations of sponsors, we are able to give 100% of the door proceeds at our event to the American Cancer Society in support of their Making Strides Against Breast Cancer program. Booty for Boobies is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, tax ID #13-1788491.
How it all got started
The event was first held as an International Talk Like a Pirate Day party, a small gathering of scallywags and wenches that steadily grew to a level fit for a better purpose. We wanted more than to just drink and be merry - we wanted to drink and be merry for a cause! Why not put our powers to work for good? And so it was born - Drink for a Cure, Party for a Purpose, Quest for a Cure - however you prefer to refer to it, it's a great time with good people and for a worthy cause. Who is more suited to appreciate the importance of boobies than the salty pirates of Portland?
The date is now not so focused on the annual holiday that celebrates our inner pirate as it was in the beginning, but the concept and spirit are still the same. We hope you will join us in our Quest for a Cure and have fun with us along the way!

"I'm very proud to continue to be part of the core Booty Crew! I have been around since the beginning and have watched this event grow in so many ways. I jumped at the opportunity to contribute more. Celebrating with good friends, good times and raising money for breast cancer research...what could be better?!!
Let's spread the word!"
